Career & Technical Education

Erie 1 BOCES Career & Technical Education Programs offer many choices for quality career and technical education programs that meet business, industry, and NY State Learning standards.  Each program offers opportunities to earn from 2-14 college credits at completion. CTE graduates are significantly more prepared for technical fields because of the excellent internship opportunities that are built into each program and give exposure to real-world work environments.

Many programs are two years in length.  Students may opt to begin the first year of a program as a senior, with the option to complete the second year after graduation (tuition may apply).

Any student planning to take the following courses is advised to make their CAP appointment early, as there is a limited number of spots for each course.  Registration for new and returning students must be complete by mid-March. Good attendance at the CTE program is critical to success.  Students can be removed from CTE due to excessive absences.

The Harkness Career and Technical Center is located at 99 Aero Drive in Cheektowaga. Potter Career & Technical Center is at 705 Potters Road in West Seneca.  Lancaster bus transportation is provided to both facilities.
