Meningococcal Immunization Requirements
As of September 1, 2016, all public and private school students entering grade 12 must be fully vaccinated against Meningococcal Disease to attend school.
Two doses are required before the start of their 12th-grade school year. The only students who do not need a second dose before grade 12 are those who received their first dose on or after their 16th birthday.
Letters will be sent to students in June who need to provide proof of this vaccination. If you receive one of these letters and your child has had the vaccination, please contact your physician and have that information sent to the Nurse's Office at Lancaster High School. If you have already provided this information and have received this letter, please disregard this.
Per the NYS Health Department, students whose Meningococcal Vaccine is not current will not be allowed to attend school until they are fully vaccinated. This will also prevent a student from participating in any sport or extra curricular activity while they are held out of school.
Please contact your child's personal physician if your son/daughter has already had a dose for clarification on a booster.
If you do not have a personal physician, please contact:
